When it comes to employer responsibilities such as facilitating a stress-free environment or controlling the hazardous elements in the workplace, we have airtight rules and regulations. But honestly, how many employers follow them? I know that many employers go out of their way to improve their worker's stress; but that is not enough now, is it? Even small businesses can give us a whole lot of stress and anxiety. This, combined with the financial and familial problems, can lead to substance abuse, emotional disorders, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, sleep disorders, heart diseases, blood pressure and many other lifestyle diseases. This is why employers have an important role in developing a healthy lifestyle among their employees. Researchers say that proper consideration should be given to the psychological problems; but most employers are doing welfare services only for the sake of it. Of course, to know how to get these benefits, we have to make the employees (or workers) completely aware of the these health problems. Executive or 'white collar' class guys are not mentioned here as they get the most out their luxuries; but the 'blue collar' grassroot level workers still have to go thorough a lot of health problems. Unfortunately, regardless of the serious health problems they produce, stress and anxiety aren't considered as deadly diseases in this scenario. Employers (at both the corporate and small levels) could implement behavioral studies, statistical studies, conduct surveys and provide free well-being services as well. But it takes tremendous effort and much resources. Still, it goes to show that it depends upon the employer-employee relationship and how far we are willing to help our fellow beings.
